LoneStar Logos, the designated contractor for TxDOT, VDOT, and NCDOT logo programs, first began using Google Street View imagery in 2018. But it wasn’t until 2020, with the launch of a formal pilot in Virginia’s Richmond District, that the full potential of the initiative began to emerge. Tasked with mapping all 3,000+ assets in the Integrated Directional Signing Program (IDSP), the pilot’s success led to its rapid statewide expansion statewide which included the ambitious task of mapping all 15,000 signs and over 6,000 participants.

Today, the StreetView Collector fleet—equipped with Insta360 Pro

 2 cameras and Autori software—has captured over 10,000 signing assets and business locations across Virginia alone, covering more than 6,400 miles of roadway.
